The landscape of affirming care for transgender and non-binary youth is continually shifting, and is moving towards one that uplifts and supports transgender and non-binary people in moving past survival into thriving. This course is designed to assist professionals in integrating models and strategies that focus on resilience, cultural humility, and equity for transgender and non-binary clients. In this 5 hour session, participants will engage in break out groups and utilize practice vignettes to explore application methods intended to implement a higher standard of ethical care to transgender and non-binary youth in our care. We will explore the use of the Transgender Intervention Model (TRIM), the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI), and guidelines and standards of care. We will utilize vignettes to practice the application of the tools which will aid in instituting resilience for transgender and non-binary youth and families.
