ONLINE COURSE:

To optimally serve male youth clients, providers should bring an awareness of the issues facing boys and young men, and as a subgroup, systems involved boys and young men of color. Building on a strong understanding of challenges disproportionally impacting this population, we may implement strategies proven effective in empowering male youth clients to cope with and succeed in spite of these barriers. Through this course, participants will gain a greater understanding of gender socialization, culturally responsive practices, and the impact of environmental stressors and systemic oppression on systems involved male clients. Approaches and techniques will be shared on how to draw out youth emotions, ideas, voice and motivation so that we may achieve targeted outcomes and collectively build more just and equitable communities.
