This training will focus on the importance of social service providers’ ability to identify and understand unconscious emotional reactions common in working with trauma survivors, the signs and causes of compassion fatigue, burnout and factors that contribute to vicarious trauma and resilience. Through didactic, collaborative and interactive learning, participants will explore self-care and why it is essential to develop a self-care plan for health professionals. Identify the six domains of professional self-care. Learn how creative arts-based tools can be integrated into a self-care plan that teaches self-compassion, develops greater insight and connection with ourselves, and improves physical and emotional well-being.
