Foster Care Training

This session will explore the foundational concept of white supremacy culture by examining the characteristics and how they exist in not just our cognitive thoughts, but in our bodies as well. Participants will examine the ways that we perpetuate and internalize white supremacy culture by utilizing body based exercises, journal reflection, and discussion to develop multiple strategies to interrupt the ways that we act out these characteristics. We will expand our thinking to include the importance of somatic exploration and awareness as we feel into the ways white supremacy culture shows up for us both in our personal lives and in our work as youth service providers.
