Foster Care Training

It comes as no surprise that children in foster care or the juvenile justice system have likely experienced significant trauma in their lives. In this workshop we will examine the research on the neurobiological effects of trauma in children, consider how the neurobiology of trauma drives our treatment choices, obtain several interventions that help children process trauma, and review case studies of several traumatized children and the treatment approaches that worked for them. We will have small and large group discussions where tools and concepts can be applied.
