The mental health effects of Covid-19 can shape health for many years, long past the events that precipitated them. We have been focusing on mitigating the short-term consequences of Covid-19, but the long-term consequences may be equally, if not more, important. Foster families and communities may experience pandemics as traumatic, leading to feelings of loss and resulting in problematic behaviors in children. This training will review some of these potential consequences of widespread community disruption.
