Traumatic experiences including attachment loss, abuse and numerous family changes impact brain structure and function, and they also shape behavior. For caregivers and clinicians supporting youth who have experienced trauma it is critical to understand how trauma changes the brain, sensory systems and behavior. This training will help clinicians understand brain changes that are directly relevant to clinical practice. Participants will identify strategies specifically designed to support youth, given what we understand about trauma, the brain, the sensory system and behavior.
