Given the patterns of trauma including childhood sexual abuse that system involved youth experience it is crucial for providers working with system involved youth to have a comprehensive un-understanding of childhood sexual abuse. Understanding the areas of a youth’s life that may be impacted by childhood sexual abuse is important to consider for care planning. Childhood sexual abuse survivors can be triggered as a result of the trauma they’ve suffered and understanding this is key to providing them with compassionate care.
