Foster Care Training

Training Summary: This training is focused on supporting transgender, gender expansive and non-binary youth. Participants will learn foundational concepts and vocabulary related to gender identity. Participants will explore and better understand the impacts and intersections of sexism, cisnormativity and cissexism. Through self-reflection, group discussion and experiential exercises, participants will develop skills necessary to work as allies/accomplices to the transgender, gender expansive and non-binary youth they serve. Participants will be able to: – Define foundational concepts and vocabulary related to gender identity. – Identify the impact and intersections of sexism and cisnormativity – Learn 2 foundational clinical strengths-based approaches for serving BIPOC transgender, gender-expansive, and non-binary youth and their families
