Given the diversity that exists within the United States, it’s essential to understand our cultural heritage as well as our clients. Many times, one’s culture can be overlooked in services, which becomes barriers to engaging system-involved youth and their families. We will also discuss privilege and how it shows up in services as well as the importance of supporting youth who experience discrimination. Lastly, providers will learn how to do a culturalgram as a tool to assess culture with youth and their families.
