Trauma impacts many aspects of one’s life. One of those areas is a student’s education. Given the amount of trauma system-involved youth experience it’s essential for social service providers to support their clients in school. It’s crucial to understand how trauma impacts a student’s emotional and behavioral health and academic performance in school. The better we understand how trauma presents, the better we can support school staff implementing trauma-informed education.
