Foster Care Training

With social media’s increased prevalence in youth’s lives comes benefits regarding connectedness and community; however, possible concerns regarding safety and effects on self-esteem can arise. This training will provide insight into how social media can affect foster youth specifically, as well as how best to manage safety and foster care specific protocols. We will explore how best to talk to your youth about boundaries and risk regarding what should and should not be posted, as well as briefly discuss cyber bullying. We will further discuss and acknowledge the positive effects social media can have and how it can support continued social ties and self-expression.
