This training will address the impact of generational trauma in the Latinx/Chicana community and how it directly hs contributed to the breakdown of a family. This has resulted in a disproportionate number of families involved with the child welfare and criminal justice systems. Additionally, this training will deconstruct how areas of maladaptive coping have been incorrectly labeled as “cultural norms”. Lastly, this training will identify key clinical considerations for formulating psychiatric assessments and interventions that have proven to be successful in fostering a safe, empowering and healing environment.
