This training will educate providers about the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) community, including terminology, frameworks to understand sexuality and gender, pronoun best practices, health disparities, and best practices. Special attention will be paid to the overrepresentation of LGBTQ youth in the foster care system and the dynamics that affect youth health and well-being. Through facilitated discussions, group activities, and multimedia, participants will grow their understanding of sexuality, gender, health disparities, laws, and best practices to create a welcoming and inclusive service environment that supports LGBTQ clients and colleagues alike.
