With the increase of Covid-19 in California, and a statewide shelter-in-place order, entire communities have experienced disruption. In the context of foster youth needs, these changes have resulted in changing practices in addressing the needs of foster youth who are entering the child welfare system or transitioning placement. This training reviews some principles related to crises and team-based care that may arise when serving foster youth. Special discussion focuses on the integrated core practice model, remote consensus and decision-making with foster youth and families, and multidisciplinary team-based care during crisis situations with youth.
