Marginalized youth are facing an extraordinary amount of stress and in this time of great uncertainty when youth are facing a global pandemic, climate change, an uprising, systematic racism, and virtual distance learning, their stressors are greater than ever. This mindfulness based training will offer youth workers culturally relevant and engaging tools, practices, and strategies for supporting marginalized youth in navigating their stress and anxiety through play.

We will explore trauma informed mindfulness and activities to engage play, expressive arts and storytelling for developing emotional awareness and literacy. Participants will receive guidance and tangible practices to support facilitation of mindfulness based play practices in a virtual setting for at risk youth, foster youth, and system involved youth.
