This training will provide information and tools to providers working with children ages 3-6 with emotional and behavioral challenges in a classroom setting. The content will focus on understanding the root cause of the emotional and behavioral challenges. Providers will understand more deeply why children may become easily frustrated, and easily angered and provide the knowledge and skills to respond effectively. Specific information reviewed will include: understanding the child’s personality and temperament, tools for de-escalation and boundary setting, meeting the child’s need for control and autonomy, how to initiate collaborative problem solving after the incident, and how to re-enter the classroom and group work.
