The Assessment Center is a milieu setting where foster youth have the opportunity to play video games or board games, participate in arts and crafts, and engage with staff and other foster youth. Oftentimes, due to the small space, inability to be outdoors, or impact of recent trauma, challenges may arise. This training highlights the importance of collaboration and communication when working with foster youth and how providers can best support youth at the Assessment Center. Providers will discuss their experiences with continuing to work with foster youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Providers will have the opportunity to discuss any challenges and barriers they are facing and discuss strategies for overcoming those barriers.
