Distress tolerance skills and interpersonal effectiveness skills are essential skills for system-involved youth and young adults to master. Distress tolerance skills can help individuals tolerate demanding situations. These skills are crucial as they help individuals manage their emotions and impulses in crises. Interpersonal effectiveness skills can help individuals who struggle to understand, build and maintain relationships. This workshop will provide an overview of distress tolerance skills and how to teach system-involved youth skills to help them tolerate their challenging situations. The training will also equip you with the skills and knowledge to increase system-involved youth’s interpersonal relationships.
