This training is aimed at creating a more grief-aware society by validating the experience of grievers and helping to guide those who wish to support them. Many children involved in the child welfare system have roots of grief that begins with the death of someone in their life. We will watch the documentary “Speaking Grief” that focuses on validating the experiences of grievers and guides those wishing to support them and provide a panel discussion which will focus on practices and strategies that help people move away from the idea that grief is a problem that needs to be “fixed”. Practical tools will be shared and discussed.
