This training is for providers who work with systems involved youths & families, and specifically focused to support providers in exploring resilience and building activities for youth & families through an Occupational Therapy perspective. The content will be provided through powerpoint, experiential activities, discussion, resource lists, and handouts. In this training the facilitator will provide an overview of the distinct role of occupational therapy in supporting the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development, and well-being of systems involved youths & their families.

The facilitator will share information regarding sensory and self regulatory techniques to build resilience and increase prosocial behavior, as well as in the context of effective strategies for addressing traumatic reactions and restoring developmentally appropriate functioning. During this training, the participants will explore appropriate times to consult or refer to an occupational therapist for further screening & resources.
