By attending this course attendees will review the importance of repairing the relationship with a system involved youth and their family. This course will describe ruptures through recognizing, repairing and resolve the conflict. Attendees will discuss relationships and assess behaviors and building connections. The course will identify 3 ways to develop conflict resolution and respond to conflict. Attendees will practice questions asked after a rupture has occurred to support the support and repair a relationship. This course will provide a list of questions that can be utilized to ask someone who has been harmed from a rupture. During this course attendees will be provided with ways to respond to conflict that causes ruptures. This course provides a list of 6 responses to conflict.

The course will assess motivation to repair a relationship after a rupture. Attendees will assess what is needed to prepare for a restorative talk with a peer or system-involved youth and their family. This course will list communication strategies and restorative questions. The course will describe the importance of creating an agreement to repair a relationship after a rupture. The material will be delivered by PowerPoint presentation, short video clips, group discussion, breakout (small group) discussions and participant workbook (handout).
