“Providing services or care within trauma-saturated environments can easily lead to trauma-saturated practices. As an antidote to these, this training highlights reflective practices. Reflective practices pay attention to the influence of relationships on other relationships, the parallels between dynamics of the family and the team, and empowers individuals to discover solutions and concepts through consciously using strategies that include active listening and waiting. The goal of reflective practices is to support staff who then support families – and create a more effective working relationship. In this 90-minute session, participants will explore the components of reflective practices, learn key skills associated with reflective practices and explore strategies for providing responsive versus reactive responses in practice.”
