This workshop will focus on direct support work with children and adolescents concerning climate distress.  We will discuss the emotional impacts of living with ongoing environmental stressors such as wildfires and drought, and concerns regarding future impacts.  We will share case material which demonstrates working with these issues. Children living in out of home care are already facing uncertainty in their daily lives, and a history of traumatic events; climate crisis compounds these concerns. This workshop will provide youth care workers with tools to help clients develop resilience skills to face these changing times.
