Virtual Instructor Led Training and In-Person

In the following mixed modality training (online and classroom), participants develop a collectively understood approach to the treatment of dangerous, assaultive, and injurious behavior. participants learn to see the treatment of assaultive behavior in the context of a milieu setting. Participants examine their collective and individual preparation for the response to assaultive behavior by youth. Participants examine youth triggers and responses, considering factors such as child development, trauma, and communication styles.

Participants develop criteria for evaluating levels of danger, and methods of maintaining self-control and achieving attunement. Participants develop strategies for limiting injurious behavior and providing need based alternatives. Participants practice responses that adhere to agency and licensing protocols and respect clients’ dignity and personal rights.
