Those who support stressed and traumatized populations, particularly those with limited internal and external resources such as system involved youth and their families, often experience vicarious traumatization.  Support providers need to understand signs of vicarious traumatization (VT) and how to prevent and address VT in order to improve outcomes for system involved youth and families. In this training participants, will learn about burnout and VT, the differences between the two, and strategies for preventing and addressing them including how to complete the stress cycle and specific regulating exercises. They will have the opportunity to make a plan to prevent VT while serving system involved youth and their families.
