The rapid spread of COVID-19 and social distancing measures are changing the way providers work across systems when serving foster youth. And in the transition from face-to-face to remote communication, new challenges are cropping up. Providers migrating to telehealth are striving to maintain previous levels of services to foster youth, but in order to do so, there are different considerations to be made and adjustments to their approaches, engagement strategies, and decisions about privacy and confidentiality.

This training will review decision points to consider for providers in order to maintain service continuity. This training for supervisors of service providers is focused on addressing challenges pertaining to foster youth engagement, high risk needs (e.g., suicidality), and competencies to develop in remote services.
