Mindfulness is a powerful tool for marginalized youth and BIPOC youth to support them in approaching their challenges and navigating stress and anxiety. For some young people, the sitting practice is less accessible or interesting, and they have negative stories and ideas of mindfulness. Mindful movement can be a powerful bridge for young people to cultivate body awareness, lift up the inherent wisdom of their bodies, and develop their intuition. This mindfulness based training will offer youth workers culturally relevant and engaging tools, practices, and strategies for supporting marginalized youth and youth of color in healthy social emotional development.
