Those that attend the training will learn what basic rights undocumented folks have here in the U.S. This is something that is important for people to know because often times undocumented folks are unaware of the rights they have and when to exercise them. This is meant to empower them. During the training participants will learn to develop a basic plan to use if detained by ICE with youth and families that are undocumented. The plan will to include memorized phone numbers to resources that can assist and a childcare plan. An overview of the Alameda County emergency Rapid Response Hotline and how to utilize it will be provided. This hotline is useful to report when someone is being detained by ICE or when they suspect of ICE activity in their community.
