Foster Care Training

In light of the challenges facing trauma-exposed children, we will explore current best practices for evidence based intervention, in particular the emotional safety and gradual exposure of a combination of EMDR and play. We will use a trauma informed case conceptualization as a framework relevant to both EMDR-trained and EMDR curious participants, and develop an understanding of how play supported EMDR works with children while learning some interventions relevant to the treatment of children with complex trauma. This work is urgently needed for children for whom unresolved trauma may result in further disruption and distress in adolescence.
