This training introduces the goals embedded in the initial phase of service with children and adolescents. It provides service providers with an in-depth understanding of what to consider and include when beginning work with children and adolescents who are linked to multiple systems of care. In addition, it covers a developmental framework that can be used to understand children and adolescents. Finally, it discusses how trauma informed care can be applied during the initial phase of work with children and adolescents. Participants use the TCOM framework and the CANS to explore screening foster youth needs and consider how this might look different depending on different services provided.
