Dr. Nicole Klasey has partnered with Lincoln to offer “Increasing capacity to assess culture with youth and families” to providers working with Alameda County youth and young adults. Assessing one’s cultural identify as well as experiences of discrimination and oppression become crucial with foster youth and their families. Without this understanding, it will be a challenge to meet them where they are at and understand the experiences they’ve had and are having. In this training, we will talk about the ways in which culture influences us and ways to increase assessment of culture, including discrimination, during the intake process. Participants will also be able to learn how to complete a culturalgram with youth and their families to gain a better understanding of their cultural influences. Please register at:
