Foster Care Training

Some caregivers of system-involved youth have struggled or are struggling with substance use. It’s important for providers, foster parents/resource families and natural supports to understand the impact caregiver substance use has on youth in care’s development. This training will provide an overview of how caregiver substance use impacts youths’ physical development, social development, academic development and emotional development. Providers, foster parents/resource families and natural supports will learn strategies for how to support system-involved youth when caregiver substance use is prevalent.
