This training is for child welfare professionals and will build confidence around connecting with a youth exhibiting sexualized behavior, acknowledging connection to social support is essential in promoting prosocial behavior, boundaries, harm reduction, and building safety for the youth. The training will bring an understanding of what drives sexualized behavior, and how to build rapport with youth to better understand their trauma history, triggers and individual experience surrounding their sexuality to provide individualized support. Participants will have a better understanding of stigma and bias surrounding sexuality, sexual abuse and sexuality in children and youth.
