It’s a hard job being a resource parent. One of the challenges that many parents face is acclimating children into the family structure and routine of the home when there is often little insight into the background of the environment the child came from. Further, the environment many of these children and youth have come from is often lacking in the very structure and consistency needed to produce a healthy environment. This training aims to provide resource parents with the understanding needed to acclimate foster children and youth into the resource home. This training will also address the barriers to identifying and establishing structure and routine for foster children in general and during the pandemic, and provide helpful tips to establish a healthy family home life.
