The following training will aim to help prepare master-level clinicians to work with underrepresented and marginalized populations in their community. The training will cover several topics, including understanding MFT’s approach to working with diverse populations compared to other helping professionals (e.g., psychologists and social workers). The training will also explore some of the barriers and unique experiences of underrepresented populations that mental health professionals should consider. Lastly, the training will provide strategies and techniques that help work with racially diverse populations such as Latin(e) and African American communities.
