Training Summary: This training will focus on a brief overview of the LatinX/Latine community, including general challenges that the LatinX/Latine community experiences. Typical challenges experienced by this community include issues related to intergenerational and historical trauma, immigration, language barriers, and impact of acculturation on families through generations. The training will focus on supporting providers in gaining some knowledge and skills in being able to provide culturally responsive services to LatinX/Latine children, youth, and families as they navigate the typical challenges faced by this community.  Class Objectives: (what knowledge, ideas or skills will participants explore, learn, practice, etc during the training) 1. Review typical challenges faced by the LatinX/Latine community.  2. Identify, at least, 3 ways in which challenges/trauma in their country of origin and historical trauma continue impacting families as they now reside in the United States. 3. Review, at least 3, ways in which culturally specific challenges impact this population while residing in the new host country, including acculturation and language barriers. 4. Review and apply culturally responsive strategies that support LatinX/Latine families.  Participants will be able to: 1. Discuss knowledge gained to their client work as well as in supervision and other consulting spaces. 2. Apply culturally responsive strategies, such as communication involving acculturation and applying LatinX/Latine values, such as personalismo, familismo, and storytelling into service delivery.
