Foster Care Training

At times, we as providers working with system-involved children and youth are asked to chase or alleviate symptoms instead of uncover and heal the underlying wounds that resulted from trauma/significant stress. When we chase symptoms, symptoms can be alleviated, but new symptoms will occur in order to express the underlying wounds. This course will utilize Dr. Bruce Perry’s Regulate, Relate, Reason paradigm; Porges’ concepts of safety; and basic neuroscience concepts. The information presented in this workshop with assist providers in targeting presenting behavior concerns, the underlying wounds uncovered through a comprehensive assessment, and guide treatment plans.
