One significant challenge faced by many people serving system involved youth is how to effectively process their own dissonant emotions and anxiety to regain their focus enough to engage and coach their clients who have experienced a disconnect from their system of care and supports including challenges such as poverty, low job skills, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), personality disorders, autism, cultural & language obstacles, and substance use disorders. Interpreting emotional intelligence and its effect on the physical body empowers the provider with a greater understanding of how emotional experiences become more than a thought process and how it effects system involved youth.

Strategies and practices for overcoming emotional process obstacles and limiting belief systems of system involved youth will be shared through lecture and experiential practice. Participants will learn strategies to support themselves and their system involved youth clients through processing their dissonant feelings and experiences using the mind and body. We will infuse simple coaching strategies to empower service providers in various roles to support themselves and their system involved youth clients.
