This course is for BlPOC professionals working with system involved youth and families addressing Colorism. Colorism being a pervasive racist structure replicated within the Black community as a direct result of institutional racist structures within society. The main points of the training are:
  • Ability to define colorism,
  • Assess triggers and describe impact,
  • Identify steps towards healing self and community.
The trainer will present videos, facilitate conversation, host break out reflections and conversation to illicit learning of impact of colorism within the self, community, economics, school and participants will discuss impact upon system involved client population of youth and families.
