This training introduces the foundation, history and context of cultural humility developed by Melanie Tervalon & Jan Murray-Garcia (1998). Presenter Macheo Payne has been trained by Dr. Tervalon & is certified as a cultural humility trainer. Dr. Payne brings over 20 years of mental health practice; training of clinicians, teachers, family member & students. This training is adapted for mental health, school & community settings, based on Dr. Paynes 11 years experience at Lincoln Families & over 25 years running OFS, a cultural reading summer program for underserved Black children.
