In this 2-hour workshop, a first session of a 2-part series, we aim to build upon previous knowledge, experience, and training(s) on the topic of commercial sexual exploitation. Participants will (re)consider the specific issues and dynamics that surface when serving and supporting commercially exploited. Highlighting common biases and assumptions frequently activated around this issue and these youth, we will explore how best to support providers, youth, and systems in addressing and undoing these harmful impacts. We will also take up the experience and the complexities of supervising the work of service providers with these high-risk, trauma-impacted foster youth. Lastly, we will briefly review practical issues such as documentation, language, and community resources.
