This workshop will explore the deep-rooted connections between colonization and various forms of systemic oppression. From the establishment of settler colonial capitalist societies to modern-day inequalities, colonization has shaped power dynamics and social hierarchies, influencing how we live, work, and interact. Through a combination of lectures, reflective discussions, and group activities, participants will gain a better understanding of how colonization serves as the foundation for all oppressions. By analyzing historical and current structures of power, attendees will reflect on their personal and professional roles in perpetuating or challenging these systems. The workshop will provide participants with tools to begin dismantling oppressive frameworks and reimagine more inclusive futures.
