Caregivers can at times experience high levels of stress when caring for foster youth, particularly when the youth demonstrates specialized needs. This seminar will focus on helping the caregiver develop empathy for the youth’s experiences. This will be done by helping the caregiver develop curiosity about the youth’s emotional experiences and the contributing factors for their behavioral challenges further discussion will explore the role of care provider with the caregiver and effective strategies for support their exploration of the client’s needs.
