Training Summary: This course is designed to provide staff tools for working with traumatized youth and families. The aim of the course is to assist adults working with Severe emotional disturbance to differentiate between the variety of Depressive Diagnoses and Co-morbid possibilities, (eg, Major Depressive Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation, etc.) Participants will use resources, large and small group discussion as well as lecture to consider best practice treatment options. Participants will be able to: – Define the various Depressive Diagnoses (Major Depressive Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, etc.) – Identify differences between symptoms for the diagnoses in order to find best practice treatment options – Describe treatment options and efficacy from research, personal/professional experience and collegial description
