This training will highlight the building of social-emotional skills through free resources and books that can support our youngest children in developing the skills they need to identify emotions, recognize the size of emotions and to regulate their emotions in times of stress and uncertainty and when they have “big emotions.” A wealth of tools and resources will be presented in this 2-hour training to help early educators, parents and providers be able to walk away with more tools on supporting children in developing social and emotional literacy. General concepts covered are: Learn the neurobiology of the brain and behavior, Identify how stress, novelty and uncertainty can cause challenging behavior, Identify books and resources that can promote: Emotional Literacy, Self-Awareness, Identifying Size of Emotions, and Promoting Self-Regulation Strategies.
