Child and Family Team Meetings are a required treatment component for system-involved youth, and facilitating these meetings takes skill in managing the varying concerns and needs of the individuals who attend. Being able to structure the meetings in an inclusive, culturally-sensitive, and solutions-focused manner requires facilitators to be empathetically directive, flexible in addressing various attendees roles and needs, and therapeutic while also creating clear expectations for follow-through in next steps. Participants in this training will deepen their understanding of the importance of required elements in a Child and Family Team meeting, and be able to practice addressing some common challenges that can arise in these meetings.
