Youth in foster care may be identified with a variety of underlying needs and presentations that can be important to consider in services and in care. In this training, trainees will learn about the neurodiversity model and how to apply this model to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Topics covered will include the strengths and differences model, neurobiological impact of ADHD and the “ADHD brain”, giving feedback, and understanding the importance of identifying ADHD needs. Trainees will incorporate examples into understanding of their work with foster youth in this two week training.
