Foster Care Training

This training is focused on how biases of providers around the idea of hip hop and hip hop culture can adversely affect their work with youth in care and how to instead take a strength-based approach when considering hip hop and what it provides. Trainer will help trainees explore their own personal biases towards hip hop while demonstrating how hip hop is just a reflection of what these youth populations are going through and experiencing in their own lives. Trainer will guide trainees through several activities aimed towards investigating these biases while also asking them to put themselves in the perspective of their youth clients and how they may see things differently.
