Foster Care Training

This training explores how ableism frames disability and neurodivergence as deficits, shaping expectations, limiting opportunities, and marginalizing youth. Participants examine how ableist thinking is internalized and reflected in language, practices, and institutions, including everyday terms that tie human worth to productivity and compliance. Using disability justice as a guiding framework, the session affirms interdependence, collective care, and accountability, while inviting reflection on social conditioning and offering strategies to disrupt ableist patterns and support neurodivergent youth in liberatory, sustainable ways.
